1. What Scholar is
Noustiq Scholar, published by Noustiq, is an independent research resource for international students. It helps you find and narrow universities, programmes, scholarships, funding routes and potential research supervisors, and points you to the official source that controls each fact.
2. What Scholar is not
- Not a university, college or awarding body.
- Not a scholarship provider or sponsor.
- Not an admissions authority, agent or representative of any institution.
- Not an immigration, visa, legal or financial adviser.
Nothing on this site is an offer of admission, an offer of funding, or advice on which you should rely without your own verification.
3. Accuracy and verification
Admissions rules, tuition, deadlines and award conditions change, sometimes without notice. We describe our checking process in the research method and the sourcing policy. Even so, information here may be incomplete or out of date by the time you read it. Before you spend money or submit an application, confirm the detail on the institution's or sponsor's own page. If you find something wrong, tell us through the corrections process.
4. Accounts
You are responsible for the accuracy of the details on your account and for keeping your password confidential. Do not share an account. We may suspend an account that is being used to scrape the service, to resell access, or in a way that damages the service for others.
5. Destination passes
A paid destination pass gives one person time-limited access to the Scholar Desk workspace for the destinations named on the pass, for the duration shown at checkout. It does not transfer ownership of any data and does not grant redistribution rights.
- A pass covers the destinations listed on it. Adding a destination requires a pass that covers it.
- Access ends on the expiry date shown in your account.
- Free research on the public site stays free and does not require a pass.
6. Pricing and payment
Prices are shown in US dollars and may vary by regional price tier based on the country of residence you select at checkout. Selecting a country you do not live in to obtain a lower price is a breach of these terms. Payment is handled by the provider shown at checkout; card details are never entered into or stored by Scholar.
7. Refunds
If a destination pass does not give you the access described at the point of purchase, contact hello@noustiq.com within 14 days of purchase and we will correct the access or refund the pass. Refunds are not available on the basis of an admission or scholarship outcome, because Scholar does not influence those decisions.
8. Acceptable use
- Do not scrape, bulk-download, resell or redistribute research records.
- Do not use automated tools against authenticated research endpoints beyond the published rate limits.
- Do not use contact information found through Scholar for bulk or unsolicited commercial messaging. Supervisor research exists so you can write one relevant, informed message, not a mass mailing.
- Do not attempt to bypass access controls or entitlement boundaries.
9. Third-party sites
Scholar links to official university, government and sponsor pages. Those sites have their own terms and privacy practices and are outside our control. A link is a pointer to the controlling source, not an endorsement.
10. Intellectual property
The Scholar interface, editorial guides, research method and compiled research presentation belong to Noustiq. Names of universities, scholarships and sponsors belong to their respective owners and are used to identify them.
11. Liability
Scholar is provided on an "as is" basis. To the extent permitted by law, Noustiq is not liable for application fees, travel costs, tuition, lost opportunities or other losses arising from a decision you took based on information here without confirming it on the official source. Nothing in these terms limits liability that cannot be limited by law.
12. Changes
We may update these terms. The updated date at the top of this page reflects the current version. Continuing to use Scholar after a change means you accept the updated terms.
