Privacy policy

This page describes what Noustiq Scholar actually collects and why. It is written to match how the site works, not as a generic template.

Last updated 29 Aug 2026
The short version. You can read every public guide, country page, tool and newsroom article without an account and without giving us anything. We only collect personal data when you choose to create an account, join the update list, contact us or buy a destination pass.

What we do not do

  • We do not run advertising, behavioural profiling or cross-site tracking.
  • We do not load analytics or social tracking scripts on this site.
  • We do not sell or rent personal data.
  • We do not require an account to read public research.

Card details

Card numbers are never entered into Noustiq Scholar and are never stored by us. Where a payment provider is enabled, payment is completed on that provider's own systems and we receive only the result of the transaction and an order reference.

Cookies

Scholar sets one essential cookie: a PHP session cookie used for sign-in and for cross-site request forgery protection. It is marked HttpOnly, restricted to this site, and marked Secure over HTTPS. It is not used for tracking. See the cookie policy for the full detail, including the one optional third-party script used in the newsroom.

Server logs

The hosting provider keeps standard web server logs, which include IP addresses and requested URLs, for security and diagnostics. These are ordinary infrastructure logs rather than a product analytics system.

How long data is kept

  • Account and saved research: kept while your account exists. Deleted when you ask us to delete the account.
  • Update-list email: kept until you ask to be removed.
  • Order records: kept as long as needed for accounting and dispute handling.
  • Contact messages: kept while the question or correction is open, then removed.

Your requests

You can ask us to show you the data attached to your account, correct it, delete it, or remove you from the update list. Email hello@noustiq.com from the address on the account and say which of those you want. We will confirm when it is done.

Children

Scholar is intended for prospective university applicants and is not directed at children under 16. If you believe a child has created an account, contact us and we will remove it.

Changes to this policy

If this policy changes in a way that affects what we collect or why, the updated date at the top of this page changes with it.
