Application route depends on study level
The British Council's Study UK guidance states that undergraduate applicants register and apply through UCAS. Postgraduate courses have their own entry requirements and application processes, so applicants should follow the individual course or university instructions.
Funding ranges from partial to full packages
Study UK's current funding guidance says international-student support can range from partial fee funding to full funding that covers program fees, living expenses and return flights. The exact package belongs to the individual scheme, not to the word “scholarship” itself.
Current UK government-backed examples include GREAT Scholarships, Chevening and Commonwealth Scholarships. Current 2026-27 GREAT Scholarships provide £10,000 toward tuition for eligible one-year taught postgraduate courses across participating institutions and countries; eligibility and participating universities must be checked on the official country page.
Visa is a separate eligibility step
GOV.UK currently requires a Student visa applicant to have an offer from a licensed student sponsor, sufficient funds for the course and living costs, and the required English ability, among other conditions. The visa process should never be treated as guaranteed simply because a university offer exists.
For applicants from Pakistan
Study UK's current 2026-27 GREAT Scholarships page includes Pakistan among the participating countries and lists the participating universities on the dedicated Pakistan page. Scholar should link to the current page rather than copy a fixed university list that may become stale.
