International application budget calculator

Estimate the pre-offer costs of an application portfolio before small fees multiply into a large financial commitment.

Estimated pre-offer spend$0Planning estimate only. Visa, tuition deposits, travel and living costs are not included unless you add them under other costs.

Why calculate before shortlisting?

Application strategy is partly a portfolio-allocation problem. Ten speculative applications can be more expensive—and less useful—than six deeply verified ones. The cost also includes tests, credential evaluations, translations and the time needed to prepare each application.

Use the number to improve the portfolio

First, remove programs that fail hard eligibility gates. Next, mark programs that only work with uncertain major funding. Then decide whether the remaining application spend is proportionate to the evidence and financial upside.

Do not optimize only for the cheapest application

A fee waiver is useful, but a low application fee does not make a financially impossible program viable. Compare pre-offer cost with total degree affordability and funding realism.
